The town has some very exclusive Antique shops and an emporium and there are regular antique markets and Charterhouse, the auctioneer, has some very fine pieces of art and furniture for sale.
The markets visit the town on Thursdays and Saturdays and the local Farmers Market is the third Friday of the month and is filled with wonderful local produce. We are blest with a great many imaginative producers. Two bakeries, Oxfords, and Reeves produce delicious beads and patisserie, a wonderful delicatessen and probably the best family run butcher in Dorset, Parsons.

Food & Drink

There are some wonderful coffee shops and restaurants. One of my favourites is Oliver’s at the top of Cheap Street. The Three Wishes, The Pear Tree, Bean Shot and Kafe Fontana are all wonderful places to spend time drinking coffee and having a light lunch.

Things To Do

There are many National Trust and Heritage properties in Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire to visit and Sherborne is perfectly placed to visit many of them as the town is so central in the county. Dorset is full of gardens attached to The National Garden Scheme for the avid gardener.
