There are many National Trust and Heritage properties in Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire to visit and Sherborne is perfectly placed to visit many of them as the town is so central in the county. Dorset is full of gardens attached to The National Garden Scheme for the avid gardener. There are magical walks on the Jurassic coast just 40 minutes away and also some lovely inland walks and cycling. I can accommodate your bicycle for those traveling at a slightly slower pace.
For those who like something different Sherborne runs a music festival in May and a Literary Festival in October. There are lots of fun things for the kids to do. Steam trains, Artsreach, Abbotsbury Farm, Monkey world, Fleet air arm museum, Tank museum, Weymouth Sea Life Aquarium adventure park, and many more, not to mention that the sea is only 40 minutes away and a wonderful day on the beach rock pooling or building sand castles.
